The Second Module of the “NG-CISO” (Next Generation CISO)

With the cooperation of GC3, the unique management program “NG-CISO” (Next Generation CISO) has been launched – a joint project of TransfformWISE and FS Group.

On October 17–18, the second module of the “NG-CISO” study program, entitled “Defensive Walls of Practical Knowledge,” took place.

The module focused on deepening the management competencies, adapting skills to real-world conditions through interaction with teams, and applying technical means of information protection.

The participants studied proactive company protection, cybersecurity framework according to international standards, the CYNEFIN framework for decision-making under uncertainty, the MITRE ATT&CK methodology, and practical incident response scenarios through playbooks for SOC analysts.

During two intensive days, the participants were working with four expert practitioners:

Volodymyr Zakharenko covered the topic of Proactive Company Security (SOC), examining in detail the processes and methodologies for responding to incidents.

Nikita Veselkov analyzed the company’s cybersecurity structure through a review of international and Ukrainian standards and frameworks, which allowed participants to understand how to build a comprehensive protection system.

Oleksandr Tovstenko introduced the participants to tools for thinking at the level of the entire organization, in particular, the CYNEFIN framework, which helps make decisions in conditions of uncertainty.

Maksym Yashchenko held sessions dedicated to CIS 18, MITRE ATT&CK methodology, selecting event sources for connection to SIEM, and reviewing practical cases (use cases/playbooks) for SOC analysts.

The module combined the managerial and technical competencies necessary for the effective work of a modern information security manager.
