GC3 initiated an online course on “Cryptocurrency Research” for representatives of the Cyberpolice Department, cadets of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, future cyberpolicemen, as well as representatives of the Security Department of Naftogaz of Ukraine. The course was conducted on June 9-10 by experts from The National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance (NCFTA, USA), permanent partners of GC3, as part of a signed memorandum of understanding.
On the first day, the participants, together with experts, immersed themselves in the history of its creation and understood the basic concepts and terminology. The focus of this day was also the technologies which are at the heart of cryptocurrency, namely hashing, blockchain, bitcoin, the mining process, and others.
On the second day, NCFTA experts demonstrated in practice what programs and skills are used to track suspicious transactions, as well as to track criminals.
NCFTA (The National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance) was established in 2002 as a nonprofit between private industry, government, and academia for the sole purpose of providing neutral, trusted environment that enables two-way collaboration and cooperation to identify, mitigate, and disrupt cybercrime.
